Building Energy Management Systems upgrade funding via the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme

Kendra Energy Solutions can offer full development support to public sector bodies for BEMS upgrade projects with a view to securing grant funding from the new £1bn Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.

This scheme is designed to encourage green investment, aligning with the Government’s Net Zero and clean growth goals.

For any BEMS that has been notified by the manufacture as having reached the end of life, is eligible under Category 2 of the scheme to reduce overall energy demand, as legacy BEMS do not achieve the desired savings a modern BEMS can achieve, an upgrade can realise greater pre-project annual kWhrs savings.

A BEMS that is remotely managed by a Bureau scores a persistence factor of 9.00 which is used in the calculation of cost to save a tonne of CO2 over the lifetime of an application (£/tCO2LT).

Combining a BEMS upgrade with Retro-commissioning are a key part of having a sustainable low cost ‘Net Zero’ journey. Savings can be increased further by using advanced analytics to leverage the data that is generated from the upgraded BEMS to ensure savings are both sustained and continually improved.

For all eligible organisations, the closing date for the submission of applications is Monday 11 January 2021.

Projects to be completed by 30 September 2021.

We welcome any enquiries from public sector bodies for advice and support.
