Kendra Accredited as Living Wage Employer
Kendra is delighted to have joined nearly 7,000 accredited Living Wage employers across the UK in the movement towards fair pay.
This new accreditation ensures all staff working at Kendra will receive a minimum hourly wage of £9.50. This hourly rate is higher than the statutory minimum of £8.72 per hour for over 25s introduced in April 2020.
Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, and we believe in doing the very best for them. It is important that our employees can have a standard of living that allows them to live comfortably.
At Kendra we will pay the Living Wage to permanent, part-time, temporary and contract staff.
“Kendra have always offered competitive salary’s to our staff and sub-contractors above the Living Wage however in order to continue to attract the very best to work with our team we felt it was an important step for our business to obtain this accreditation.”
Chris Mills, Managing Director
What is the Living Wage Foundation?
The real Living Wage is based on the cost of living and is voluntarily paid by UK employers who believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
Back in April 2016 the government introduced a higher minimum wage rate for all staff over 25 years of age inspired by the Living Wage campaign – even calling it the ‘national living wage’.
The real Living Wage rates are individually calculated based on what people need to get by. That is why we encourage all employers that can afford to do so to ensure their employees earn a wage that meets the costs of living, not just the government minimum.
